Boy, we sure do have a lot going on here at Covenant. At first, I thought I was the only one with a busy schedule, but then I felt this energy in the air around me. I looked up to find that it wasn’t just me, it was Covenant, our congregation, our community of faith. It was Covenant opening its doors to the Girl Scouts and to the Grace Notes. This energy is our choir rehearsing, the Elders meeting, the Interim Search Committee listening for God’s guidance, or our JYF busy making signs for their service project. The energy is our middle and high school youth eating pizza and discovering how God fits into their lives, and the Disciples Women and Disciples Men groups gathering for fellowship. Each and every time I find myself at Covenant I see that we create an energy and atmosphere that we should be proud of.
I took a look at the October calendar and saw that there wasn’t even enough room on some days to fit everything. As the newsletter was built out, I realized that we have a lot going on. I encourage each of you to take a look at the newsletter and calendar and see what’s happening at Covenant. Find an event or opportunity to get involved and participate in the fellowship. Come out for game night, or sign up to work a shift at the State Fair, attend the new Covenant Women’s Book Club, or a Men’s or Women’s Fellowship event. Do some fall cleaning and bring your good quality donations to the yard sale, or dress up and join in the fun at Trunk or Treat. I encourage you to get involved because together as the body of Christ we can accomplish more than we can as individuals.
