New to Covenant?

Welcome to our Church!

We want to make sure your visit to Covenant Christian Church is one you enjoy and remember.   That’s why, before you visit our church, we want to share some information that may be helpful.   If you have questions or want to know more about us, please email our church administrator or one of our ministers at office@covenantcc-cary.org or call us at 919.481.4715, we’ll be happy to serve you.

When you come through our doors, you can expect to find people who are genuinely happy to see you. We are a community and family of faith open to all individuals no matter where they may be on the spiritual journey. We hope you come and experience the amazing faith community we have here at Covenant Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and consider making us your church home.

Dress Code at our Church

You will find NO dress code here. You’ll see people in jeans sitting alongside folks in suits & ties, dresses & pants. Being here and being comfortable is more important than what you wear.

Our Church’s Worship Services & Times

Sunday 9:00 AM “The Gathering”

“The Gathering” is a 45 minute worship, family friendly, relaxed and meditative in nature. It offers contemporary music and time for personal prayer and meditation. Many of the songs are contemporary or taken from the Taize tradition. A brief reflection from one of our ministers concludes each week with an invitation to share in Holy Communion. All are welcome to receive the Living Bread and Cup of Blessing. Childcare is available for 4 year olds and younger with staff who are trained in infant/child CPR and First Aid.

Sunday 11:00 AM Traditional Worship

The 11am service follows a traditional order of worship that includes time for announcements, a call to worship, opening prayers; a children’s moment before the pre-schoolers and younger elementary children go to Children Worship & Wonder. Prayers of the People invite you to share your joys and concerns as we prepare to pray for the needs of the world and God’s people everywhere. The Adult Choir provides wonderful music based on the theme of the service. The morning message is provided by one or our ministers, followed by an invitation for everyone to share in Holy Communion and the receiving of our offering as we prepare to go forth to serve God in the week ahead.

Childcare / Children Worship & Wonder

Childcare services, for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers, are available during the 9am worship.

During the church’s 11am service, childcare services are available for infants and toddlers. Pre-schoolers (ages 3 and up) and students in Kindergarten-2nd grades may participate in our truly unique worship experience called Children Worship & Wonder.  In Worship & Wonder the children learn about God as they experience God. They hear Bible stories in a way that allows them to enter into the story and form responses out of their own life experiences.

Children in 3rd grade are invited to “Transitional Worship” (September through November) which helps to bridge the gap between Children Worship & Wonder and our traditional 11am worship in the sanctuary.

Adult StudiesSunday School / Spiritual Formation for All Ages

Our Sunday School / Spirtual Formation hour is Sunday mornings at 10am. Childcare for infants and toddlers is available. There are classes for children ages 3-4, grades K-1, grades 2-4, and youth classes for 5th-8th & 9th-12th grades as well. All of our classes are designed to teach our children and youth the importance of building a strong spiritual foundation, one that has the ability to enhance/support/shape the rest of their lives.

During this hour we also offer several adult classes as well. Our adult study classes are designed to challenge and educate all participants, no matter where he/she may be on his/her spiritual journey. We offer classes that range from a powerful Bible exploration class; to a class that is centered around understanding personal/communal spiritual issues; to a hot topics class that challenges its participants to discuss and explore the “hot topics” happening in today’s culture.

You’ll be greeted by smiling faces who will help you find a group that is appropriate for your age and interests. Whether you’re a seeker just getting started in the faith or if you’ve been on your faith journey a while, there’s a small group waiting to invite you to travel with them. Our teachers and class members will make you feel welcome!
