Rev. Randall Holste is a native North Carolinian. He was born in Alamance County and spent most of his childhood in Thomasville. Just after high school he attended Appalachian State University where he studied psychology and mental health rehabilitation. In 1998 he received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors. Immediately following his undergraduate work Randy began his studies at Vanderbilt University’s Divinity School in Nashville, TN. He graduated in 2001, receiving a Master of Divinity degree in pastoral theology and care. After graduation he began working with children and families struggling with mental illness, substance abuse, foster care, and developmental disabilities.

Randy is married to Laura and together they have 3 young children, son Tate and daughters Avery & Addison. Two dogs, Boone & Hurricane, round out their family. Randy comes to Covenant Christian Church with a call to assist the multifaceted needs of this growing community. His enthusiasm, diverse experience, and passion for working with children, youth, and families to enhance their spiritual formation, are among the many reasons that define his call as Covenant’s Associate Minister for Children and Youth.
Randy was joyfully ordained into Christian ministry at Covenant Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) on September 19, 2010.
